Although we never stopped talking about fonts either for packaging or the “Call To Action,“ we realized that we had been too long without sharing free download fonts … and today had to be the day!
Little by little Google Font families are expanding, so soon we will have to do an article with combinations of these, but in the meantime we want to share with you today some free download fonts perfect for a “vintage” poster.
As we have said on other occasions, the fonts “vintage” type (such as the Google Font Montserrat) are trend. The reason is simple. They are typefaces with a very clear reading, making them perfectly readable for text title, and that capitalized give a special air.
In fact, although most of them can be written in both uppercase and lowercase, you must be clear about the use made of them. It is very important to keep in mind when we use some of these fonts in lowercase the thickness of them, because, as we said, for the most of cases they are intended to be titles and their use in paragraphs can cause eyestrain if they are too thick. This does not mean that they can never be used in paragraph text; it depends on the thickness, type and especially the length of the text. It may be a good idea to use them as lowercase in subtitles, for example.
Personally I like them very much because they are very readable fonts and they do not lose their air of creativity having some vintage style, which makes them perfect for a typographic print o a poster.
So, today we will see four (we keep another 4 for later … 🙂 ) of these free download fonts that are certainly helpful for your projects! Today we present it with some phrases that I am sure will make you smile, and on some of the last images that we have shared for free download!
Jaapokki
We start with strength! It is a very original typeface with a lot of creativity. In addition to the common alphabet, we can find some letters so we can make special form games with them. It does not take much to create a typographic print!
Pier
We have 4 types to combine as you please. It also includes many symbols and special characters which are usually very helpful. Another thing to note is that the accents appear. There are many fonts that do not have uppercase accents, which in languages like Spanish or French make it difficult to use.
Farray
Its style is reminiscent of the Baron Neveu that we already shared some time ago. Its characters are very special and are perfect to give a touch of creativity to your project. Besides, its originality makes it a perfect font for a logo!
Ikaros
With only two types, we have everything we need from a typeface. Being a thicker typeface, it is the perfect one for titles and other finer types that without having, from my point of view, a suitable thickness for paragraph, we can use to highlight appointments or something characteristic in the text.
