5 Web Design Trends for 2016

It is time to analyse our passage through 2015, but also to think about 2016 and the things it can bring. Always look forward!

Either way, we just left Christmas behind. We have already celebrated it with many surprises. For any remaining you can view our greeting by clicking on the button:

We will show you soon what we lived last year (on an infographic, of course,) but before we will talk about New Year and the web design trends.

Throughout last year we have been seeing different trends applied to web design and blog. Many of them will be retained for the New Year or at least the beginning. Others trends will appear throughout the month. Remember that web design is not static but adapts to time but also to the needs of users. If something is not functional, even if it has a high aesthetic value, will not have an audience.

Let’s start and anticipate some of the web design trends for this 2016. As you can see many of them remain this year… Let’s go!

1. We continue with the Flat / material design

For many months we discussed the differences between these two styles of design. As we said they come from the same source so they have several things in common. In this 2016 we continue to enjoy both, although there will be a greater height of the material design.

As we said, it incorporates some improvements in relation to the flat design in web design, including shadows as well as other “effects,” so it is of great help when it comes to rank the elements of the web. For graphic elements, we will continue to use the flat design as hierarchy of spaces is not so important, but we will also include effects of material design.

2. Animations

Yes! Animations will be tendency for the New Year. We have already jumped on the bandwagon and we hope you love our Christmas card.

It is not a secret that people like well-developed animations. Everyone likes to interact with the web (always without going over) having different effects that appear. We can make simple animations for the header or include some dynamic elements. Be careful! Just play with HTML5! 🙂

In addition to our Christmas card illustrations type, the parallax is still present (although we do not know for how long) and it can help us to create effects to our website (remember our Christmas card 2013.) As we will see elsewhere in this article we are not afraid of the scroll!

3. Fonts

As you can imagine this is one of the trends that I like the most. With them we can create messages, illustrations and complete our header. If we are not sure of the images or illustrations, chose a font.

We can play with styles by hand or vintage characters that create content and spaces and occupy a key part in web design.

4. Infinite Scroll

We are not afraid of the scroll! It is already incorporated in some of our templates. We will get to the last post or content appearing on the web, nothing will stop us.

We do not see the pages as containment of a number of posts, but posts are incorporated at the same time we do scroll.

It is true that a messy style is trend today (I do not like it,) in which the elements are in disorder.

5. Burger menu

It is the most common menu when we talk about mobile phones and tablets and now desktops. It is not important that all menu tabs appear in a fixed form, simply click on the icon and you can start surfing the web.

With this we win space for content and we create a greater consistency between desktop and tablets / Smartphones. As mentioned many times, a greater uniformity is important among them, leading them to a simpler design. The use of mobile devices is becoming prevalent in desktop and there are many trends that go towards standardizing them all.

These are some of the trends in web design for 2016 but we will continue to update them! Do not worry!
